The Delhi police should not have accepted her words at face value – they probably did not realize that in a few minutes, it would be April Fool’s Day. Moreover, in today’s world, the voice can be disguised – therefore, a man could be imitating the voice of a woman.
The Delhi police should have been more alert before jumping headlong into an embarrassing situation.
The news has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 2 April 2015.
The detectives of two police stations were roped in to get to the bottom of the mystery and the police dug up the entire area only to find that there was no trace of any woman – what they found was the remains of a nanny goat.
The police are still puzzled about whether it was a joke or a genuine piece of information that had been shared. If so, where are the remains?
It was around midnight on Tuesday when a woman called up the police and informed them about a woman in her 20s having been murdered. The voice went on to add that the body was burnt and buried in Neb Sarai area adjoining Sainik Farms.
