Loch Ness monster is no monster but, probably, a huge catfish

Nessie, the Loch Ness monster, may not really be a monster but is, most likely, a large catfish – this is the opinion of an expert who has spent 24 years searching for Nessie. He is 52-year-old Steve Feltham and he gave up his home, his job and his girlfriend to move closer to the haunt of legendary character in the Scottish loch.

He admitted that he cannot lay claim to have solved the mystery of Nessie but, from all the evidence available, he has concluded that it is most likely a Wels catfish. These can grow up to four meters (13ft) in length long and weigh over 400-Kg.
He has relied on modern equipment and gadgets and has claimed that sonar contact had picked up objects in the loch that were the size of an estate car. This, despite the fact that the biggest creatures known in the loch were salmon and seals that sometimes chase them.
Obviously, a huge catfish would be totally out of place in the loch. And, stories would be woven around sighting of such creatures once in a while.

14-year-old schoolboy lands an 8-foot long catfish while holidaying in Spain

#catfish #catalonia We have read about such feats in story books but it can, and has, happened in real life when a 14-year-old schoolboy caught a monster of a catfish while on holiday in Spain with his father. The fish was 8-foot long and, weighed 208-lb – in weight, it was like that of David Haye, a champion boxer. Needless to say, it was the catch of a lifetime for the boy.
It seems the carnivorous catfish had snatched the live bait from 14-year-old Sam Lee's line and immediately bolted 100 meters downstream, but Sam, from Chester, hung on and, after a 35 minute battle, he landed the monster of the fish. Later, as per time honored tradition, he posed for the traditional photo to secure bragging rights before releasing it back into the waters of the River Ebro in Catalonia.
Landing monsters of catfish is not new to Sam who attends Upton High School. He has loved fishing for years and his latest catch is the biggest yet but, he had landed a 133lb catfish on the same stretch of river during a holiday last year.
Talking of minsters of catfish - earlier this year an eight foot 260lb Wels catfish was caught in Italy by angler Dino Ferrari on the River Po in Italy. However, the weight of the Guinness World Record is of 297lbs, 9 oz. And, the biggest on record is the Mekong catfish, found in Southeast Asia, which was recorded as 8ft 9in long and weighed slightly less than 646 pounds.
