Ricky Kej is a dentist by profession and hails from the IT city of Bangalaru. He is a music composer by choice and he bagged the Grammy for the Best New Age Album trophy for 'Winds of Samsara'. He had teamed up with South African musician Wouter Kellerman for the album, which symbolizes peace and harmony.
The album topped the US Billboard and New Age Chart and had been recorded over two years ago by Ricky with over 120 musicians from five continents.
The album is truly a global effort and has managed to attract devoted listeners from across the world and managed to grab the attention of music aficionados. The album spotlights the musical, cultural and political connections between India and South Africa.
The other Indian to get the Grammy is Neela Vaswani – she was awarded the Best Children's Album category for 'I Am Malala: How One Girl Stood Up For Education And Changed The World'.
