Wreck of Spanish galleon sunk in 1708 found off the coast of Colombia

The wreck of a Spanish galleon dating back to 1708 has been found in Colombia. The galleon with nearly 600 on board was sunk by the British in the Caribbean over 300 years ago and it was carrying gold and precious stones thought to be worth billions.
Treasure hunters had been searching for the ship for decades, and although they found plenty of other wrecks, the final resting place of San Jose hasd not been found until now. Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos has proudly declared this find to be the most valuable treasure that has been found in the history of humanity.

As history goes, the San Jose was sunk in June 1708 near the Islas del Rosario, off the coast of Cartagena, during combat with British ships that were trying to take its cargo as part of the War of Spanish Succession.
The galleon was the main ship in a treasure fleet carrying gold, silver and other valuable items from Spain's American colonies to King Philip V.

The island of Santa Cruz del Islote in the Caribbean, is the most crowded place on Earth – discovered hardly 150-years ago, it is more densely populated than Manhattan. It has a population of 1,200 who inhabit a lump of rock and its area is just 0.012 square kilometers.

The island is a two-hour boat trip from Cartagena, Colombia and was discovered just 150 years ago by a group of passing fisherman - the tiny island) is situated in the archipelago of San Bernardo.
It is an island which is like paradise - there are no mosquitos, no doctors, and no cemetery - the dead are buried on a nearby island. There is a single generator that runs for just five hours per day. Of course, there is no running water because the Colombian Navy delivers drinking water to the island every three weeks.
The only service that it provides is that of a lone security guard stationed at the island's school that boasts of 80 children. As per law, there must be a guard for every school in the country.
