Parliament to be covered by 'Operation Golden Nose' to sniff out terrorists

Sniffer dogs are used to sniff out undesirable material and men at crowded places like airports and these specially trained canines are an invaluable help to law enforcement agencies. Therefore, in order to ensure safety of the parliament and its people, the Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the deployment of crack canine dog. This has been named 'Operation Golden Nose' and its main purpose is to prevent terror attack on Parliament.
This has been reported in zeennews.india.com dated 17 July 2016.
At present there are multiple ring security system in place in the Parliament but, in spite of existing methods, the possibility of somebody sneaking in explosives in innocuous articles and placing it in areas like under the tables or in flower pots, cannot be ruled out. Hence, these highly trained crack canines are necessary. These canines are trained to identify if someone has even touched an explosive.
These dogs belong to the ITBP and, they have reportedly been requested by the Parliament Security Services (PSS) to deploy their crack K9 units. These ITBP dogs are believed to be one of the most highly trained in the world and the US Navy Seals had selected them to assist in protecting US President Barack Obama during his visit to India last year.

Tunisia unhappy with Britain for calling back its tourists because of Sousse terror attack

Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid is unhappy with the decision of Britain to call back its people who were holidaying in Tunisia. He has regretted Britain telling its citizens to leave Tunisia after the Sousse terror attack in which the 23-year-old terrorist had gunned down 38 people. 30 of them were British nationals.
This has been reported in news.sky.com dated 12 July 2015.
Already scores of tourists have cut short their holidays and flown home following the latest travel advice from the Foreign Office in which fears of another terror attack was sad to be "highly likely".
Prime Minister Habib Essid feels it was a hasty decision and assured his government could have done something else that could have benefited both the sides. In his words - Tunisia needs to be supported. It needs to be helped against what the terrorists are doing.
Their objective is that people from abroad won’t feel safe in Tunisia and, we are playing into their hands by asking tourists to leave Tunisia.
Tunisia's interior ministry has revealed that five suspected extremists had been killed in clashes with counter-terrorism forces. It seems there was a gun battle after eight suspected extremists were tracked and chased to a mountain near the town of El Ktar in the Gafsa region.
Moreover, Tunisia has carried out 7,000 security operations after a terrorist attack on the Bardo museum in Tunis in March had left 22 people dead.

Mumbai in the eyes of possible Lashkar-e-Toiba terror attack

#Intelligencereport #Mumbai #terrorattack #searoute Intelligence reports have been provided to the Mumbai Police about the possibility of a terror attack by Lashkar-e-Toiba militants on the financial capital of Mumbai. The intelligence inputs suggest that there could be a group of 8-10 militants and they could sneak in through the sea route. Their probable targets could be hotels of railway stations.
This has been reported in zeenews.india.com dated 14 April 2015.
The fears have been expressed because of the release of Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi from Pakistani jail of the mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. He was a commander of the LeT.
It may be recalled that in 2008, a seaborne assault was carried out by Pakistani gunmen on Mumbai, the nation`s financial capital. There were a total of 10 Pakistani gunmen who arrived on a rubber boat in Mumbai. Subsequently, they carried out a commando-style assault on two luxury hotels, a train station and a Jewish center in which a total of 166 people of different nationalities were killed.
After the attack that caught the security people by surprise, India has upgraded coastal security, invested heavily on patrol vessels, helicopters and building a coastal radar network to prevent a similar attack.
However, the fact remains that many of the CCTVs installed at critical locations do not function, there are gaping holes in the boundary walls of railway stations and the Indian common man is still too simple – they can be taken for a ride very easily by smooth operators. Even the police who are detailed to man the check points do not know what exactly they are looking for.
