Qantas Dreamliner promises London to Perth direct in 18 hours

Qantas is gearing up to introduce direct long distance flights between London and Perth and this could happen by next year. It will be followed by other long haul flight routes. The direct flight between Perth and London would be how it would launches its first 787-9 Dreamliners - it would be a 18 hours journey. Long-haul routes between Sydney and Chicago and Melbourne and Dallas are also under consideration.
This has been reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 15 August 2016.
The Boeing 787 planes can fly longer distances because they have 20 per cent better fuel efficiency than standard 747s - the reason is the use of lighter materials and better aerodynamics. These planes cost $345 million and Qantas plans to acquire eight of the 787-9s. The objective is to gradually replace its older Boeing 747s between 2018 and 2019.
The main reason for choosing this particular aircraft is its incredible efficiency. Its new technology will reduce fuel burn, cut heavy maintenance requirements and open up new destinations around the globe. These planes have larger windows, improved cabin pressure and experience a reduction in turbulence as revealed by Qantas.
