This has been reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 15 August 2016.
The Boeing 787 planes can fly longer distances because they have 20 per cent better fuel efficiency than standard 747s - the reason is the use of lighter materials and better aerodynamics. These planes cost $345 million and Qantas plans to acquire eight of the 787-9s. The objective is to gradually replace its older Boeing 747s between 2018 and 2019.
The main reason for choosing this particular aircraft is its incredible efficiency. Its new technology will reduce fuel burn, cut heavy maintenance requirements and open up new destinations around the globe. These planes have larger windows, improved cabin pressure and experience a reduction in turbulence as revealed by Qantas.
