Bandits ambush a bush taxi in Madagascar, kill 31 passengers and loot $2000


It was an ambush by bandits in Madagascar - the bandits waylaid a bush taxi carrying 32 passengers and killed 31 of them. The incident happened in southwestern Madagascar. The bush taxi was on its way from Toliara to Beroroha.

It was a gang of around 20 bandits and they blocked the road of the bush taxi. The driver managed to escape but the bandits shot the rear tire and overthrew the car. There were 10 children among the victims. Only one survived from the attack, but he is seriously injured.
The gang had robbed cash of around 7 million Ariary (about $2000) before fleeing the scene. It seems a few hours before this incident, the same gang of bandits had attacked a military vehicle on the same route.
