Ranthambore Park to have full day safaris from sunrise to sunset

Taking a cue from Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh on how to manage their forest and wildlife, Ranthambore National Park has decided to open the forest for full day safari from sunrise to sunset. There will be a limited number of five gypsies in the tourist zones (1-5) within the carrying capacity of six people. The tickets for the full day safari for the foreigners would be Rs 40,000 and for Indians Rs 30,000. Moreover, there would be a guide in each gypsy and it would have GPS monitoring.
This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 6 April 2016.
The park has a limited number of vehicles at its disposal that can go in a day in the park. There are many hotels that have sprung in the vicinity to cater to the people with influence and it usually had tourists beyond the carrying capacity of the park. Now, with the introduction of full day safari, the forest officials could add five more gypsies to their existing capacity.
Critics feel that this decision could lead to too much human interference in the forest and could agitate the animals and disturb their natural behavior. Forest is basically for the animal and tourism is only a corollary - the forest department should start to look at conservation.
