California Disney theme park leads to outbreak of measles


#Disneyland #measlesoutbreak Outbreak of measles in California is attributed to visit to Disney theme park in mid-December – number of cases is nine. Officials have asked anyone who may have been exposed to contact a doctor.
It is understood that seven of the nine are Californians, while two are from Utah. Moreover, three more Californians are also suspected to have contracted measles. All of them are suspected cases of the illness following visit to Disneyland or Disney California Adventure between 15 and 20 December. This has been intimated by the California's Department of Public Health.
The persons infected were in the age group of eight months to 21 years and that six of them were not vaccinated for measles, two of them because they were too young.
Measles falls in the category of a highly contagious virus that lives in an infected person's nose and throat mucus and spreads through coughing and sneezing. Its symptoms are fever, cough, runny nose and red eyes and a red rash that usually first appears on the face and spreads to the rest of the body.
