This has been reported in zeenews.india.com dated 11 December 2015.
The principal chief conservator of forests in Uttarakhand has written a letter to the state's DGP regarding the fact that several states, including Uttar Pradesh, are secretly dumping their monkeys into the state. As a result, there is a sudden rise in the population of monkeys which has become one of several states facing monkey menace.
It seems vehicles from neighboring states are releasing groups of monkeys on the sly into Uttarakhand forests in the dead of night.
The practice is for vehicles from neighboring states to come to forests in the border areas to release the animals. The Uttarakhand government has instructed the forest department to maintain a watch on such activities and the police to take tough action.
