IPL8 – rain gods play havoc with KKR – lose to RCB in rain curtailed match

#IPL8 #KKRvsRCB #mandeepsingh #andrerussell Kolkata Knight Riders faced an unhappy date with the rain Gods played havoc with their match against Royal Challengers Bangalore which was reduced to 10-overs each. KKR had scored 111 for loss of 4 wickets and with an asking rate of around 11 per over, it appeared to be a daunting task for any team.
This has been reported in zeenews.india.com dated 2 May 2015.
Andre Russell was the architect for the KKR innings – he hit 45 runs off 17 runs and, it looked as if he would better the record of Harbhajan Singh for the season of fastest 50 (off 19 balls). But, Russel fell to an admirable piece of fielding.
But – Mandeep Singh hit an 18-ball 45 runs (four boundaries and three sixes) to ensure a clear victory for RCB by 7 wickets with 2 balls to spare.
With this win, RCB move up the points table to 3rd position and KKR, the defending champions, are on 4th position.
