Tampa brazen robbery - thieves steal $300,000 in Rolex watches from shop within minutes

#Tampa #Rolexwatches The Tampa police are baffled at a brazen robbery in which three suspects made off with $300,000 worth Rolex watches from a store. The suspects had used hammers to break open a case and the operation was over in a matter of minutes.
The authorities are examining the footage of surveillance cameras from the Mayors Jewelry Store. The suspects are believed to have come in and left in less than a minute and took about a dozen watches with them. It seems the smashing of the glass of the case sounded to others as gunshots and that led to a sense of panic among shoppers at the International Plaza Mall. The store is located there.
The suspects apparently fled the scene through the garage and left the scene in a black Dodge Ram pickup truck which was stolen from a deputy of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. The deputy had reported about it being stolen from the Brandon Mall earlier Tuesday.
As indicated by the Tampa police no one was injured at International Plaza and the mall reopened a little more than an hour after the robbery. Incidentally, this upscale mall is home to some 200 stores and over a dozen restaurants and is close to the Tampa International Airport.
