The win came from a last minute goal from forward Mohammed Rafique of Atletico de Kolkata.
Till now, the game of cricket ruled the Indian sports scene and now, with the emergence of the ISL, football appears to have come into reckoning.
As Tendulkar has commented - ISL has got a terrific response and is a new platform and added that schools need to take the initiative and encourage children to take up sport at a young age. That way, the nation can become healthier nation this way. The idea should be to identify talent.
Sourav Ganguly was also upbeat about the game and termed the inaugural edition of ISL as a tremendous success. The crowd of around 65,000 at the stadium proved the point – it was a neutral venue and the Mumbai team was not laying.
The game had kicked off in Kolkata on 6th of October 2014.
