Woman in Hong Kong McDonald’s lay dead for seven hours before anyone noticed

A homeless woman aged between 50 and 60 was found dead in a McDonald’s outlet in Hong Kong – she had apparently been dead for at least seven hours before this tragic end was discovered. It is an example of the growing number of homeless people who seek shelter in 24-hour restaurants.
This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 5 October 2015.
Initially it was felt that a female customer had fainted but, as per the police, she was already dead. She was slumped at a table, 24 hours after she first entered the restaurant in the working class district of Ping Shek.
She had not moved for seven hours before fellow diners noticed something was wrong. This is as per CCTV footage. It is believed that she had been spending nights regularly in the McDonald's.
The plight of the homeless in the affluent southern Chinese financial hub is not too happy – the number of homeless is estimated at more than 1,000 by local NGOs and, many of them are forced to live on the street because they cannot afford to rent a home due to high housing prices.
Moreover, in sweltering heat and high humidity, many prefer to slip into air-conditioned restaurants that are open around the clock.
