This has been reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 22 June 2015.
It seems it got trapped after it wandered into the crate as it was being loaded in a Cyprus port in the month of May. As a result, it had to remain inside the sealed container as it was ferried across the Mediterranean Sea. Later it began its mammoth road trip across Europe to Warwick.
The frantic and desperate meows of the animal led to its discovery by staff from Pickfords, a removal and storage company. They heard its cries when they were unpacking the cargo at a warehouse.
From all appearances, the cat had made a bed for itself in one of the boxes and must have survived by licking condensation from the walls.
The company named it Miss Pickford and took it in its custody – it paid for the animal to stay at Bayton Lodge Quarantine Kennels and Cattery in Bedworth, Warwickshire. It has made a miraculous recovery and has been given flea and worm treatment, rabies vaccination and a microchip.
The four-year-old is now under the care of Cats Protection's Birmingham Adoption Centre which is scouting around for a new home for Miss Pickford.
