Maharashtra hikes rates for nude models in art colleges – it will be ₹1,000 for a six hour session

The Maharashtra government has taken a decision to increase the payments of girls who pose as nude models – the payment now be ₹1,000 for full-day, against ₹300 they used to get after pay revision in February 2011. A full day means six hours.
The revised rates would be effective from the 2015-16 academic session as reported in ibtimes.co.in dated 18 June 2015.
The reason for this hike is because fine arts colleges in Maharashtra were not getting girls willing to pose as nude models in life-sketching classes for the sake of only ₹300 that they were entitled to. The life models are chosen in terms of physique and other features.
While the nude models got a three-fold hike, draped models will be paid double the rate they got earlier. Draped models will now get ₹400 against earlier pay of ₹200 per day and those who pose as semi-nude models would get₹600 against the ₹250 per day that they used to get earlier.
