With 100 days to go for World Cup, India takes 2-0 lead at Ahmedabad as debutante Rayudu scores unbeaten century

With 100 days to go for the 2015 Cricket World Cup, India beat Sri Lanka at Motera and go up 2-0 in the 5-match ODI series.
Sri Lanka won the toss yet again at Motera, Ahmedabad, but could not win the match this time either. Thy did put up an reasonable good score of 274 but, thanks to debutante Ambati Rayudu, the score was not enough. Rayudu scored an unbeaten 121 in 118 balls and finished the game with more than 5 overs to spare.
Incidentally, with this century, 29-year-old Rayudu became the fourth oldest Indian batsman to score his maiden ton in ODIs after Sunil Gavaskar, Mohinder Amarnath and Robin Singh – obviously, Rayudu is in august company.
From the visitor’s side, Angelo Mathews put in 92 runs and remained not out but the Sri Lankan stalwarts failed again. Kumar Sangakkara (61) smacked a full toss from Umesh Jadhav straight into Dhawan's waiting hands at long on.
Tilakratne Dilshan (35) was bowled by local boy Akshar Patel while Mahela Jayawardhene (4) had holed out to Ashwin and, if these seniors had been able to perform to their potentials and do what they are capable of doing, things might have been different.
The Man of the Match was, undoubtedly, debutante Ambati Rayudu.
