Modi adopts Jayapura village that, 400-years ago, had prevented Moghuls from demolishing a Hanuman temple

Prime Minister Narendra Modi appears to have been lucky to have experts in his background team who can ferret out information that suits the occasion and, hence, it comes as no surprise to learn that The Jayapura village that he has adopted in his constituency of Varanasi has a glorious history that dates back to 400-years.
Prof K K Mishra, the HoD of political sciences at Benares Hindu University, in 17th century, when Mughal emperor Aurangzeb was reportedly on a temple-demolition spree, a temple of Lord Hanuman in the village of Jayapura caught their fancy.
It was a unique one and the main deity Lord Hanuman was black in color, hence the temple was and still known as “Kale Hanuman ka temple". In order to save the temple, the villagers put up a brave fight and forced the Mughal soldiers to retreat.
Another uniqueness of this village is that in 2003, an army personnel Ajay Kumar Singh from the village attained martyrdom while fighting terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.
Therefore, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that he would adopt the village and develop it in his constituency Varanasi, the 3500 odd residents were overjoyed. The experts who work for the Prime Minister behind the scene have learnt the tricks of the trade and know how best to win over the people by appealing to what their souls desire.
It may be recalled that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi had gone to visit Nepal, he had taken along with him his Godson - a Nepali boy Jeet Bahadur Saru Magar. This boy had come to him as an 11-year-old, it was a chance meeting, and Modi helped him through school and a BBA. This act of Modi endeared him to the people of Nepal.
