India becomes the 100th country to embrace US Fast food giant Burger King

With the opening of its first outlet in Delhi, India becomes the 100th country to embrace Burger King, the US Fast Food giant.
As explained by Elias Diaz Sese, president, BK Asiapac, Pte. Ltd. .. ‘it is fitting that the celebration of our 100th country is happening in India, a vibrant and exciting marketplace. I'm excited about our potential in India and believe we have the right partner and experienced team to make this market a success for the BURGER KING® brand.'
The debut restaurant would open at Select Citywalk, Saket, New Delhi – this location has been chosen because it has a strong reputation as one of the best malls in the country in terms of traffic and business generation and a top destination for guests living in and around New Delhi.
The restaurant is equipped with a dual production line (one each for vegetarian and non-vegetarian products) and, in keeping abreast of Indian culture, the staff who manage vegetarian and non-vegetarian products is different.
After the debut restaurant in New Delhi, other outlets are expected with additional openings in New Delhi and Mumbai and subsequent expansion into new cities and regions in 2015.
The plan is to expand to 12 outlets within 60 to 90 days and the hamburger chain has changed its menu to sell mutton, chicken and veggie sandwiches. Burger King would be a rival to McDonald’s that has been in India for two decades.
