IPL9 - Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Mumbai Indians to register their first win at Hyderabad

It was a spirited knock of 90 not out by Sunriser skipper David Warner that helped the SRH to beat MI and register their first win of the season at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal.
This has been reported in zeenews.india.com dated 19 April 2016.
Winning the toss, SRH asked MI to bat first and they never looked in control of the game because they had experimented a lot with the batting order. Ambati Rayudu, who was promoted to bat at number three, was the hero of the Mumbai innings with a 54-run knock. He was well supported by Krunal Pandya, who was promoted ahead of the big-hitting Hardik Pandya. Krunal remained unbeaten on 49 runs - in the knock he hammered spinner Bipul Sharma for three consecutive sixes. But, the SRH bowlers restricted the scoring to just 31 runs in the last five overs and MI finished at 142 for 6.
The Sunrisers overhauled that score in 17.3 overs by scoring 145 for the loss of 3 wickets.

IPL8 – Mumbai seals playoff spot by beating Hyderabad with 37 balls to spare

#IPL8 #SRHvsMI #MitchellMcClenaghan #indiakatyohar Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Sun Risers Hyderabad could manage to score only 113 runs and Mumbai Indians chased it down with 37 balls to spare for the loss of one wicket. By virtue of this win, MI jumps up to 2nd position in the pints table and will face Chennai Super Kings for the Qualifier 1 which will be played in Mumbai.
This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 17 May 2015.
SRH were put on the defensive when they lost both their openers in the first overs itself – Shikhar Dhawan (1) and skipper David Warner (6) fell to consecutive balls. The destruction was by left-arm pacer Mitchell McClenaghan (3/16) who was ably assisted by left-arm spinner Jagadeesha Suchith (2/14) and Lasith Malinga (2/17).
With SRH out for 113, MI openers Parthiv Patel and Lendl Simmons did not have to bother. They played freely and Parthiv remained not out on 51 off 37 balls while Simmons missed his 50 by 2 runs – he made 48 off 44 balls.
Third-placed Royal Challengers Bangalore will meet Rajasthan Royals in the eliminator at Pune on Wednesday. Obviously, the India ka tyohar is in its closing stages with IPL8 and there will suddenly be a big void in the lives on millions of cricket fans across the globe.

IPL8 – Mumbai Indians register emphatic win at Wankhede against Sun Risers Hyderabad

#IPL8 #SRHvsMI #wankhede #Lasith Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bat first. But the two pronged attack of the Sun Risers Hyderabad pace bowlers Dale Steyn and Trent Boult restricted the home team to 157 for 8. That should have been an easy score to defend but, in practice, the SRH faltered because of its weak batting lineup.
This has been reported in ibnlive.in.com dated 26 April 2015.
Ultimately, Hyderabad fell 20 runs short and ended with 137 for 8. Lasith Malinga (4 for 23) did most of the damage while and Mitchell McClenaghan (3 for 20) also contributed to the downfall of SRH.
It has once again been revealed that SRH relies heavily on its two star batsmen David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan. In the two matches that SRH have won in IPL8, these two batsmen had put on stands of 82 and 130. This top-heavy batting line-up was exposed at the Wankhede since the other batsmen choked against some disciplined bowling of the MI.
Lasith Malinga was named Man of the Match.
