Tourist restrictions and ‘Hall of Shame’ in Corbett Tiger Reserve

The authorities of Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR) have imposed restrictions on tourists in the park because a selfie-clicking tourist had driven away a thirsty herd of elephants in Ramnagar near Corbett. Therefore, the authorities have "identified and demarcated" certain places which would now be closed for tourists as well as safari gypsies.
Most of these locations are where animals cross the road to go from one place to another or to drink water. The gypsies that transport the tourists can certainly pass through these places but they would not be allowed to stop in between.
This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 10 June 2016.
Moreover, the CTR has also started a 'Hall of Shame'. This is to encourage tourists to send pictures and videos of those among themselves who do not behave well or show scant respect for animals. These pictures would then be posted on the park's website. CTR authorities would examine these photographs and videos and if found correct, they would put it up on the website.
Tourists and drivers of gypsies are supposed to maintaining silence, should not get down from the vehicles and should not surround the animals.

Appleby Horse Fair in Cumbria brings together thousands of gypsies and horses

Appleby Horse Fair, in the Westmorland area of Cumbria, is the biggest gypsy event in Europe and is a celebration for the community's love of horses as it brings thousands of gypsies and horses - the gypsies arrive in their caravans from all over the world.
This has been reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 2 June 2016.
The people splash in the river Eden with their horses to participate in the festival which is believed to be about 200 years old. It attracts 30,000 visitors and many of them stay in modern or traditional caravans across huge campsites around the town. Washing the horses is an integral part of the event.
The fair also provides an opportunity for buying or selling horses. The festival is not an officially organized event by a council or group but it is more of a mass get-together with a family atmosphere. However, the 3,000 permanent residents of Appleby do not like the aftermath of the festival - the reason is the amount of trash that is left behind by the revelers.
