Train from Jamshepur to Puri on the cards

Travelers who want to go to Puri from Jamshedpur will soon get a weekly train - for the duration of this winter. In case of favorable response, it could become a regular feature. This has been notified by the South Eastern Railway (SER).
The weekly special train between Puri and Rourkela via Tatanagar station will start from December 7 and will ply over a month till January 12. Depending on the response, it may find a place in the permanent timetable of the railways.
This has been reported in telegraphindia.com dated 3 December 2016.
The decision to introduce the train was taken to honor demands from passengers for a direct link to the tourist destination of Puri in winter. The train will help to ease the rush during winter when most people go on trips, especially to the sea town of Puri is one of the most sought-after destinations.
The train will leave Puri station at 5.30pm every Wednesday, will reach Tatanagar at 3am the next day and will arrive at its destination, Rourkela, at 6am on Thursday.
On the return journey, the train from Rourkela will depart at 10pm on Thursday and chug into Tatanagar at 12.12am on Friday.
On both the to and fro journeys, the weekly special train will halt for five minutes at Tatanagar. The other stops in the route are Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Balasore and Chakradharpur. The 19-bogie train will have one AC-II and two AC-III coaches, 10 second-class sleepers, four general compartments and two luggage vans.
