He used to fly model aircraft competitively and took a decision to build one himself - so, he built a Spitfire fighter aircraft of WWII vintage. The Isaacs Spitfire weighs 500kg and a top speed of 160mph. It is fitted with a 100hp engine and can reach an altitude of 10,000ft.
This has been reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 6 December 2016.
To start with, he paid £150 for a set of plans from the Light Aircraft Association in 2012 and built the plane in his 18ft by 10ft garage. He worked away in his spare time and had to, finally, give up his driving instructor business to focus full-time on his project.
He located a 100hp Rolls Royce engine in the Netherlands - he bought and rebuilt it. He bought the wheels on eBay. The seat-belts were made in the US, and he flew the Spitfire for the first time in September 2015 after his three-year project.
His Isaacs Spitfire is a 6/10th model of the iconic Supermarine Spitfire - it was designed as a single-seat replica to be home-built. Incidentally, he had previously built a Pietenpol Air Camper and, earlier to that, he used to make and fly model planes competitively - that was 25 years ago.
