This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 14 September 2016.
Monkeys have always been there on the campus but their numbers are on the rise. There are about 10-15 monkeys all at a time on the campus and hostel inmates with open balconies are targeted. The hostels numbers 3, 5, 7and 9 are most affected.
As the students have explained, in case one forgets to properly lock the room or keeps it open, these monkeys completely change the orientation of rooms destroying clothes and valuables... the simians sleep on their beds, upturn waste-bins and scatter the trash in the entire wing in search of food.
The students have been advised to carry a small stick while roaming in the corridors or burst crackers in the hostel wings to frighten away the menace.
