Collision with a pigeon kills a motorcyclist in Surrey

It was a tragic end for an IT engineer of South Croydon. A father of two, the 35-year-old was killed after being thrown from his motorcycle when he hit a pigeon. He was riding his £19,000 Yamaha R1M superbike with three friends and was on his way to the beach when the accident happened.
This has been reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 3 September 2016.
It was early morning and the group were going from south London to Seaford in East Sussex - the route was the one they took regularly to the beach. The victim was riding in front on his 1,000cc machine when he hit the bird on the A22 in the village of Godstone, Surrey, ten miles into the 60-mile trip.
His friend for 14 years saw a cloud of feathers in the air as he took a bend and then saw the smashed up motorbike lying by the side of the road. He assumed that the pigeon hit him and he had become unconscious or disorientated and the bike veered to the left, catapulting him. The pigeon was lying dead in the road.
Paramedics could not save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene. He leaves behind his widow and two kids aged 10 and 6.
