Parliament to be covered by 'Operation Golden Nose' to sniff out terrorists

Sniffer dogs are used to sniff out undesirable material and men at crowded places like airports and these specially trained canines are an invaluable help to law enforcement agencies. Therefore, in order to ensure safety of the parliament and its people, the Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the deployment of crack canine dog. This has been named 'Operation Golden Nose' and its main purpose is to prevent terror attack on Parliament.
This has been reported in zeennews.india.com dated 17 July 2016.
At present there are multiple ring security system in place in the Parliament but, in spite of existing methods, the possibility of somebody sneaking in explosives in innocuous articles and placing it in areas like under the tables or in flower pots, cannot be ruled out. Hence, these highly trained crack canines are necessary. These canines are trained to identify if someone has even touched an explosive.
These dogs belong to the ITBP and, they have reportedly been requested by the Parliament Security Services (PSS) to deploy their crack K9 units. These ITBP dogs are believed to be one of the most highly trained in the world and the US Navy Seals had selected them to assist in protecting US President Barack Obama during his visit to India last year.
