Encroachments around Salim Ali Lake in Aurangabad harming the environment

The Salim Ali Lake in Aurangabad gets its name from the noted Indian ornithologist late Salim Ali and is home to variety of bird species, including migratory-winged creatures. The lake is also host to a number of varieties of tree species, shrubs, climbers, terrestrial herbaceous plants, algae, herbs, aquatic insects, molluscs and crustaceans, fish, reptiles, rodents. However, rampant encroachments around the lake is destroying its biodiversity.
This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 17 November 2015.
There is a tea stall on the side near Delhi Gate while shops of reused furniture, that had encroached upon the boundary of the lake by destroying the fencing, were extending their reach. Moreover, vehicles belonging to intruders were usually parked inside the boundary of the lake.
Such landmarks need to be taken care of and their uniqueness maintained since these are identities of the cities - political interference should not be allowed to get the upper hand.
