In Texas, a vacation home was blown away and the 12 people staying there have been reported as missing – the vacation home was swept by rushing floodwaters. The town is a popular tourist destination.
As revealed by witnesses, the swollen Blanco River had dislodged the vacation house from its foundation and it smashed into a bridge and, only pieces of the home have been found.
Mayor Evaristo Perez Rivera has indicated that 300 people were being treated at local hospitals, and on a rough estimate, nearly 200 homes had been completely destroyed.
Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto has also indicated that he planned to visit Acuna with officials from government agencies.
Ciudad Acuna is a city of 125,000 across from Del Rio, Texas and, the twister had struck a seven-block area which has been devastated.
