13-year-old Vadodara girl takes to prostitution to acquire high-end mobile phones

A 13-year-old girl of Vadodara has taken to prostitution in order to acquire high end gadgets and mobile phones. Impressed by the various ads that showcase a carefree life with the latest gadgets and mobile phones, this teenaged girl wanted to fulfil her innermost desires to lay hands on these items. But, she came from a family that could not afford these – her mother was a small time shopkeeper.
Therefore, the girl decided to sell her body and turned to prostitution.
This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 26 May 2015.
Her mother came to know about this until the girl admitted that she had become pregnant.
It has been revealed that the girl is from Anand and was an adopted child. Her parents had adopted her as an infant and had shifted to Vadodara and the father expired three years ago.
The girl had been working as a prostitute independently and would book her clients through a secret secondary phone. It seems there was a rift between mother and daughter and the mother had sent her back to Anand but she revolted and threatened to commit suicide. She sees nothing wrong in what she was doing. Her close friends were aware of her activities.
The errant teen is now under counseling.
