Swallow this - one third of burglaries in England and Wales committed by children

It now appears that the days of Oliver Twist and Fagin are back because as per latest information, one third of burglaries in England and Wales have been committed by children. As per fresh statistics, out of 291,567 burglaries where an offender was caught, 95,872 - or 32 per cent - were below the age of 18.
This has been reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 20 March 2015.
Moreover, out of a total 1,068,901 burglaries committed between January 1 2008 and December 31 2013, less than a third resulted in a conviction.
Obviously, people have to live with this situation. The data was compiled based on a Freedom of Information request to 43 police forces in England and Wales. Of the 23 forces who responded to the FoI request, the largest numbers of child burglars were from Nottinghamshire, Greater Manchester and the Metropolitan Police.
It needs to be investigated as to how the children got drawn to crimes – usually, they are used by adults to commit crimes like burglaries and, the police should seek out the kingpins.
