Captain Cook's ship HMS Endeavour found in the US after 230 years

Captain Cook's famous ship HMS Endeavour has been discovered in the United States 230 years since it had been sold, sunk and forgotten. This ship is one of the most famous ships in naval history and it had been was used by Captain James Cook to discover the East Coast of Australia in 1770.
THis has been reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 2 May 2016.
The ship had, last, been seen around 1778 when it is believed to have been sold, renamed the Lord Sandwich, and, subsequently, used to transport British troops during the American Revolution. Archaeologists of the Rhode Island Marine Archaeology Project believe they have found the scuttled remains of the Endeavour in Newport Harbour, Rhode Island. In their opinion, the ship was scuttled in the harbor by British forces in the lead up to the Battle of Rhode Island in 1778.
HMS Endeavour was discovered alongside 13 other ships in a massive archaeological investigation which combined high-tech mapping of the seabed in conjunction with analysis of historical shipping documents found in London.
