It is not that schedules are hectic only now – it was there earlier also. We have seen our elders and the simple ways they tried to reduce their stress levels. Immediately on returning home, he would remove his shoes, stretch his legs, tune in to the radio, pull the day’s newspapers and glance through the news – the purpose of these simple activities was to gradually allow the mind to normalize.
And – when his wife brought the cup of tea, it used to be the cup that cheers. The man of the house would enjoy the sips as the wife sat beside him to narrate local or domestic news or snippets of neighborhood gossip. These gossips could be the neighbor fighting with her domestic help or someone’s daughter running away with some boy or someone else’s son failing in his examinations. Once the man of the house finished the tea, he would go to have his bath and freshen up.
Well – things have changed and, today, no one has any time to stand and stare at the flowers, birds, or clouds because they are tense and worried about the future. Therefore, in order to relax, here are a few methods that have been identified by experts.
Of course, there are many more and the best philosophy is to leave the worries of work in the office and never bring them home. Similarly, never carry your domestic worries to work – leave them at home. As the saying goes – there is a time and place for everything.
