Squirrels love the taste of eco-friendly Toyota cars – owner left horrified

#ecofriendlycar #toyotaaygo #squirrel #toyotayaris Tony Steeles of Croydon is a worried man because squirrels have eaten into the panels of his newly acquired Toyota Aygo – the panels are made of eco-friendly plastic material and the rodents loved the taste and had a feast!!
The firm had begun to use eco-friendly plastics to boost its green credentials and, as revealed by the owner Tony Steeles, his car became a target of the squirrels who repeatedly attacked it soon after it was delivered.
As Tony explained - the aerial has been chewed off twice, the oxygen sensor’s been damaged and various rubber-like trim parts have been chewed and damaged. The car has been sent for repairs several times and has finally been replaced by a new Toyota Yaris.
It seems Toyota had made use of plant-based plastics that might be attracting the hungry squirrels. The door trims, seat cushions, spare tire covers and boot liners are some of the parts of the car that the Japanese firm is now making from materials derived from natural sources like the castor oil plants.
The idea to go in for eco-friendly items to make car parts deserves to be appreciated but, the designers need to ensure that it does not end up being fodder for hungry animals.
