Italian circus paints Chow Chow dogs to look like pandas and fools the visitors

#ItalianCircus #Panda #ChowChowDogs It was a novel idea no doubt and the Italian traveling circus in the town of Brescia was sitting pretty by disguising white dogs as the loveable Chinese pandas! They put the dogs in the guise as pandas on display, and when children wanted to pose with them, the circus charged the parents fees for the privilege.
The white dogs had originally been shipped from Hungary and have now been seized from the circus by authorities in Italy following a tip-off.
It seems the dogs were painted and a splash of dye was applied so that they looked like pandas. This led the visitors to believe that the Chow Chow dogs were actually a rare example of panda, the Chinese bear.
Reports indicate that the animals were in good health, and the circus has denied allegations of cruelty, mistreatment and trickery. However, the circus is no longer allowed to use them in their shows.
Incidentally, way back in 2008 there had been reports of donkeys painted and disguised as zebras in Tijuana, Mexico. Hoodwinking the gullible is not new – it has happened in the past and will continue to happen in future.
