Syrian refugees receive warm welcome with gifts in Munch railway station

Syrian refugees who are arriving at Munich's train station are being greeted with applause and calls of welcome from onlookers and, as the Syrians are getting off the trains, the children are being given small gifts like stuffed toys and chocolate eggs by members of the public who have gathered to welcome them.

This has been revealed by a expat New Zealander who had been adopted as a Vietnam War orphan whose parents were killed in the war in the mid-1970s. These orphans were known as babies in boxes because they were flown out of Vietnam in cardboard boxes.
In his opinion, what is being witnessed in Germany is that the welcome that the Syrians are getting is "the best humanity can offer."
Germany is one of few countries that has agreed to accept the brunt of the refugees into Europe and has opened its doors to process asylum seekers.

Obviously, one’s privacy is at stake because these UAVs can be programed to steal its way into prohibited places like the bathroom or bedroom and keep tab on activities within.

It is al happening in this year's CeBIT technology event and manufacturers are showcasing their offerings of remote-controlled and autonomous quad and hexacopters to potential partners and customers. The items include the QH micro quadcopter that measures just 1.7-inches (4.5cm) and the X-Star MaXAero drone that flies at 12 metres per second. Then there is the QH LS-111 – it is a micro, or nano, copter designed by Chinese manufacturer Lian Sheng. It seems it has a built-in six-axis gyroscope that will keep it stable and help it to fly for up to seven minutes – it boats of a remote range of 98ft (30 metres).
The MaxAero's X-Star drone flew around the event with a HD camera attached. As understood, it takes off and lands by the use of a single-click control and comes with Wi-Fi and GPS built in. Moreover, an LED indicator panel reveals real-time flight status and battery level.
Obviously, scientists and engineers the world over are fascinated by drones and it now appears that the sky is the limit. Drones used to be a weapon to hunt down and eliminate enemies but are now being used in civil applications.

Sand from Germany on its way to Dubai – selling coal to Newcastle

Dubai is a land with plenty of sand in its deserts but, it is importing sand from Germany – it is similar to selling coal to Newcastle or selling a refrigerator to an Eskimo.
A German firm has agreed to supply Dubai with 1500-square-meters of sand which is to be used on the oil rich city's famous racecourse.
That is why, in spite of having an abundance of sand with it, Dubai has to go in for importing it.
The specially sifted sand from Germany is necessary because the local sand is allegedly too unstable for horses to race on, hence the decision to transport the right type of sand all the way from central Europe.
As reported by the officials at Dubai's race tracks and training yards, the local sand is 'too coarse' for their multi-million pound thoroughbreds.
Incidentally, The Dubai World Cup, which is held at Meydan racecourse every year has a cash prize of $10 million, the biggest in horse racing – it is being held annually since 1996.
