Stray dogs attend funeral of Mexican woman who fed them

It was a strange sight at the funeral of a woman of Yucatan in Mexico – she loved and fed stray dogs and these animals turned up at her funeral to show their respects.

The woman was animal lover Margarita Suarez of Merida, Yucatan and she breathed her last on 10 March after battling illness. She was known for her kindness to all kinds of animals and every morning she would feed the stray dogs and cats that would show up at her home.

It seems she would also carry with her a bag of food whenever she went out so that she could feed other strays also. Her family members were surprised to see so many dogs suddenly appear at the funeral parlor where her body was being kept. When questioned, the staff of the funeral home denied any knowledge of the animals and added that they had never seen them before.
Finally, the dogs were allowed to remain and, when the funeral procession took off, the dogs followed the hearse.

#oxfordshire #gascanisters #arsonattacks There were three major fires that broke out in South Oxfordshire – these were in the council offices, a cottage and a funeral parlor in Wallingford. Fire fighters suspect these to be arson attacks early in the morning. It seems a car had crashed into the offices before the fire started.
As reported by Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, as many as 27 fire crews were at the scene to tackle the blazes which occurred within minutes of one another. A 47-year-old man has, apparently, been arrested on suspicion of arson in connection with the three fires and is currently in police custody.
The miscreants who started the fire must have broken the window in the front door, popped the cap off a gas canister and threw a match in there.
The funeral parlor was next to the building of the Council offices and it is possible that the parlor was set on fire by mistake since whoever set it on fire believed the parlor to be a part of the council. There are fears that plenty of documents and records would have been lost in the fire.
This has been confirmed by the South Oxfordshire District Council who have admitted that most of its services have been affected by the fire at its office in the village of Cowmarsh Gifford and have raised concerns about the volume of data that may have been lost in the blaze.
