McDonald's comes up with Angry Birds burgers

On the occasion of release of 'Angry Birds' movie in China, the global food franchise McDonald's has launched its 'Angry Birds' brand of burgers in its restaurants. The burgers feature either red or green food coloring in the buns and, reportedly, look weirdly inedible. It has had mixed reactions on McDonald's fans.
This has been reported in nzherald.co.nz dated 26 May 2016.
It seems the colorful sandwiches include the "Naughty Green Pork Burger" with a pork patty, fried egg, lettuce, jalapenos, and "mystery sauce". Then there is the "Super Red Burger" - this features a double chicken sandwich with Louisiana-style hot sauce, a fried egg, and cheese.
These innovations are the latest in a long list of freakish food that has been put on trial overseas. Examples are KFC's edible nail polish, a black burger that had been launched by McDonald's Japan, and a 'pizza bomb' - a creation of a South Korean restaurant.

South Korea develops a new bomb - the pizza bomb

This is the latest in bombs and it explodes on your table!! It is a creation of South Korea and has taken the world by storm and can be categorized in the category of "things you're very likely to burn your tongue on". Named as the "bomb pizza", it is a bubble of dough that is crammed with sauce, cheese and various toppings. It is being served at The Place in Seoul.
This has been reported in nzherald.co.nz dated 3 May 2016.
The pizza is cooked right on your table. Once ordered, it comes as a giant ball - which can be pink or black and is brushed with alcohol and set alight. The ingredients are cooked at the diners' table. In order to avoid any melted cheese catastrophes, the waiter will use scissors to cut the top of the bubble and reveal the pizza within.
Obviously, innovations are what draws the customers and, such innovations will certainly pay rich dividends. Like the pizza box pizza created by a pizza outlet in Brooklyn - this New York pizzeria has done way with the cardboard container for a box and has made it entirely of pizza.

Wage row in Kaesong Industrial Park between Pyongyang and Seoul

#southkorea #northkorea #kaesong #industrialzone #wagerow Even though there exists enmity between North Korea and South Korea, the joint industrial park in Kaesong has been seen a ray of light for the two countries to sink their differences. This unique venture is financed by the South while the workers belong to the North. Obviously, it benefits both the sides.
However, trouble seems to be brewing as a group of 14 South Korean businessmen on Wednesday travelled there to hold talks with North Korean officials in a bid to resolve an escalating row over wages at the park. This has been reported in zeenews.india.com/news dated 18 March 2015.
Pyongyang had announced a unilateral decision last month that it would hike the basic salary of some 54,000 North Korean workers employed across 125 South Korean firms in the complex from $155 to $164 monthly as of the end of last year.
This is not acceptable to the South because any such decision must be taken after a dialogue between both. Observers are of the opinion that this stance of North is a result of the plan of South Korea to send across propaganda balloon to coincide with the five-year anniversary of the sinking of a South Korean warship in 2010. A total of 46 sailors lost their lives in this and the South blamed it on the North.
Moreover, South Korean activists want to sneak copies of satirical Hollywood movie "The Interview" across the border. This would be in defiance of North Korea`s repeated threats of retaliation through military means.

Seoul once again proposes reunification talks with Pyongyang

#SouthKorea #NorthKorea #reunification #Kaesong It has been reported that South Korea has once again proposed talks with North Korea to discuss a range of issues that are necessary to lay the foundation for the unification of the divided countries. However, there are doubts on whether Pyongyang would agree because it has always any such attempts with distrust – it also wants a unified Korea but, with Pyongyang in charge.
Unification Minister Ryoo Kihl-jae has informed in a televised news conference that South Korea wants talks to be held in January and would discuss exchange programs, joint projects and laws needed for a unified Korea. Ryoo has added that South Korea hopes the proposed talks would also discuss resuming reunion of families who have been separated by the 1950-53 Korean War.
It may be recalled that Seoul had launched a government committee on the unification in July, six months after President Park Geun-hye had informed in a New Year's press conference that unifying with North Korea would bring an economic "bonanza," not massive financial costs associated with any Korean unification. However, North Korea turned the proposal and made an angry response, saying the plans of Park were nothing but a plot to topple Pyongyang and build a unified Korea under a South Korean system.
The bitterness between the two Koreas has resulted in the closure of the Kaesong Industrial Complex in April 2013 – this setup was in North Korean territory and while North supplied the manpower, south did the investment. It provided employment to North Koreans but that has been stopped. Reunification could help both the sides.
