In August 2015, a seven-year-old child was killed after being attacked by a swarm of bees during the Independence Day flower show. Later, in December 2016, a six-year-old died after a stone sculpture toppled and fell on him.
Hence, the authorities have identified possible danger spots and have removed bee hives as also stone structures that could pose a danger to visitors.
This has been reported in thehindu.com dated 18 January 2017.
There will also be a restriction on taking selfies - specific spots will be identified where selfies can be taken. There will be Home Guards deployed at the Bonsai Garden, which has ornamental stoneware. In addition, 500 police personnel will be keeping a close watch on other parts of the 258-acre garden.
Apart from thematic display of flowers across the garden, the Glass House will be decked up with a floral replica of Gol Gumbaz, the largest dome in India. It had been built by Adil Shah, the erstwhile king of Bijapur, in Bijapur district and, to create this monument, nearly four lakh roses in four colors would be used.
