The estimated cost of repairing these potholes is Rs 40 crore, but it will be a temporary measure - the sole aim is to have good roads during the Puja because there is no guarantee that the repairs will last beyond the Puja.
The magic figure of 70000 was arrived at by compiling data furnished by road and civil assistant engineers after they carried out survey of the wards in their area over the past week and submitted their reports to the borough executive engineers.
