The pathetic condition in its premises is difficult to believe. The ACB people rolled up their sleeves and rescued stunted bovines stranded in the muck and slush.
This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 6 August 2016.
The team of over 50 personnel had gone to take stock of irregularities and the deplorable condition of bovines at the city's biggest cow shelter. This gaushala has become a major source of embarrassment for the state government and Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC). The large-scale deaths of bovines is attributed to the ongoing strike of workers.
When the team reached the gaushala, they found over 1,000 starving cows stranded in a pool of mud in a ward. The team members cleared the ward with the help of local guards and fed them. They also entered the pool of muck and removed the ailing bovines that were unable to stand up due to starvation. JCB machines were used to remove the muck and piles of waste lying in the ward and the team struggled to rescue the cows stuck in the mud.
