Parama flyover in Kolkata to become two-way soon

Parama flyover is supposed to be a two-way flyover to ease congestion of traffic on the EM Bypass but at present it is kept one way during 9am to 9pm because of incomplete work. There is a ramp over the Park Circus crossing connecting the AJC Bose Road and Parama flyover and it will be opened in mid-July. That way, the flyover will become two-way again.
Chief minister Mamata Banerjee is expected to inaugurate the ramp on July 15 - however, the date might be changed to suit her schedule.
This has been reported in telegraphindia.com dated 14 June 2016.
The 950m-long ramp will allow Bypass-bound vehicles on AJC Bose Road flyover to avoid the traffic bottleneck at the seven-point crossing. At present, the police allow only Bypass-bound vehicles on the Parama flyover between 9am and 9pm to prevent traffic congestion at and around Park Circus. Traffic becomes two-way for the remaining 12 hours. The Rs 500-crore Parama flyover has a main trunk about 4km long and two arms descending on the Bypass.
After coming back to power for the second time, Mamata Banerjee has stressed on the need to complete unfinished bridges, flyovers and even rail overbridges.
