This has been reported in thestatesman.com dated 16 June 2016.
The two-month long ban was imposed by the Odisha government to ensure the safe and hassle-free breeding of sea fish. The prohibitory orders remained in force from 15 April and has now been lifted. Earlier, this prohibition used to be of 45 days duration and has been extended to 60 days this year as per order issued by the Union agriculture ministry. This 60-day ban was enforced simultaneously in West Bengal, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh on the eastern coast.
Fishing vessels carrying the crews have now reappeared along the seawater, marking the beginning of seasonal fishing trade. Expectations are of a bumper fishing season.
