The flyover of Vadodara constructed in Fatehgunj locality connecting connects the city's civil airport Harni and the Vadodara railway station is scheduled to be inaugurated on Friday on the occasion of the birthday of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
This has been reported in zeenews.india.com dated 25 December 2015.
The city Mayor Bharat Dangar has said that the inauguration of the flyover would mark the birthday of senior BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee and would provide great relief to the people and rid them from traffic jams. The flyover would bring an end to the ordeal of over two years, that the citizens had been facing while commuting through Fatehgunj area in the city. It connects city's civil airport Harni and the Vadodara railway station.
The foundation stone of the flyover had been laid in October, 2013 by Gujarat Finance Minister Saurabh Patel and the flyover is the second one constructed on Gaurav Path christened as Sayaji Path from the Airport Circle to Akshar Chowk. Earlier, the Amitnagar flyover had been constructed on the route.
The over one-km-long flyover has been completed and beautification work under the flyover would also be completed soon. One portion of the open space under the flyover would be made use of for parking of vehicles.
Incidentally, the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has plans to construct the state's longest flyover in the city, from Genda Circle to Old Padra Road. It would be 3.4-Km long. At least six flyovers and two rail-over bridges have been constructed in Vadodara in the last four years.
