Based on this, another group of about 19 students was stopped from boarding flight at Hyderabad by Air India.
The reason given was that the university they were about to join in US was under scrutiny by the local authorities there for certain reasons.
This has been reported in zeenews.india.com daed 22 December 2015.
All the students had a valid visa and other documents but were off loaded from the flight because the Silicon Valley University at San Jose and North Western Polytechnic College, Fremont, both in California, where these students were heading for admissions had been blacklisted by the local authorities.
Air India was provided this information by US Customs and Border protection agency.
The airline had taken the decision to stop then from traveling so as to prevent them from further embarrassment and deportation. Moreover, Air India had asked travel agents and other ticketing agencies not to issue tickets to students traveling to US for admissions into these specific universities.
