This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 5 July 2015.
As per the revelations, hospital workers in morgues sell the body parts to tantriks who perform black magic. The workers assist the doctors in the post mortems and then go about their activities. The most sought after organs are the liver and the heart.
A cost of a liver can be in the region of Rs 5,000 while a heart could go for around Rs 20,000.
The authorities have now issued strict instructions that no human body must be opened or closed for post-mortem unless police and doctors are present.
It is unethical and illegal because there are procedures involved and consent of the family has to be taken when an organ is removed from a body, usually for transplantation.
