However, a study has revealed that, nowadays, while the trend is to take more and more photos of ourselves than ever before, the activity is not helping boost the level of self-confidence. This is because women typically take and delete five pictures before settling on a selfie they feel comfortable posting online. And, in the case of men, they are happy only on their fourth try.

The study has brought firth interesting results. Two in three women (64 per cent) feel anxious just having their photo taken and when they look at the snaps on social media, nearly 41 per cent feel bad about themselves.
The survey commissioned by ITV's Good Morning Britain show, was conducted on 5,000 people by market researchers OnePoll. As far as the children were concerned – out of 58 per cent who took selfies, 79 per cent said they were happy with the way they looked while 67 per cent thought they needed to look good.
