Getting old is a state of the mind – you are as old as you feel

#MuirGray #gettingold #healthylifestyle In the opinion of Sir Muir Gray, the former chief of knowledge for the NHS, age is just a number. He has gone into details of the lifestyles of people and advises people to eat well, exercise and make small life changes. He believes that being busy is not a tenable excuse for not being fit.
He has narrated the story of a man in his 100s who received an iPad on his 100th birthday, who had just flown for the first time to Israel to fulfil a long-held ambition to swim in the Dead Sea.
That was an example of the saying that getting old is nothing but a state of the mind – you are as old as you feel.
Hence, if one is relatively free from the debilitating effects of disease, he can very well live independently and into the nineties. He can also take trains and buses, drive a car and enjoy going for walks.
As Sir Muir Gray has explained - most of the limitations that older people experience are not due to the aging process itself but, can be attributed to the way they choose to live their lives as old age sets in. His advice is that, by means of a few simple tweaks to the lifestyle, anyone can help reduce those limitations. He can stay healthy and active right into the 70s and beyond.
