Eurostar services resume after fire put out in the French end of Channel Tunnel

#ChannelTunnel #Eurostar #StPancrasStation The Eurostar service between France and England through the Channel Tunnel is a wonderful method of completing the journey but, when the channel is closed, it puts the travelers to great inconvenience as has happened when both ends of the tunnel was closed as a result of a lorry fire at the French end.
Passengers have, now, been warned to expect delays on Eurostar services after the fire left thousands stranded on both sides of the Channel. As per reports, the passenger services and the Eurotunnel Le Shuttle car service had to be stopped when the vehicle caught fire on Saturday. That happened on the French side of the railway's south tunnel.
Consequently, there were long queues at St Pancras station in London due to cancellation of services. Similar queues and delays were there at in Paris.
Passenger service Eurostar says that the trains are expected to be delayed by between 30 minutes and an hour. There are plans to run a full service on Sunday but that would only be applicable to passengers who have an existing reservation for this date.
The company has also cautioned that those people whose trains were cancelled on Saturday should not arrive at stations unless they had already been re-booked. The services on Sunday are already very busy and availability of seats is limited.
The reason of suspension of Eurostar services was the discovery of a "smouldering load" in the trailer of the lorry. Accordingly, an alarm was triggered after CO2 detectors were activated in one tunnel.
