BBC’s reply to Disneyland – theme parks planned in London on Doctor Who, Top Gear and Sherlock

In order to give a fitting reply to Disneyland, the BBC has plans to convert shows like Doctor Who, Top Gear and Sherlock into theme park attractions. BBC Worldwide, the corporation's commercial arm, has reportedly signed a deal with the company behind a 2 billion ($4.3 billion) Paramount Pictures resort planned for Swanscombe in Kent.
The London Paramount Entertainment Resort will be offering rides based on the Hollywood studio's blockbuster franchises - which include Star Trek and Transformers – these are popular shows on BBC.
While Paramount has Indiana Jones and Mission: Impossible as its prize properties, the BBC, on its part, can offer Jeremy Clarkson and Fawlty Towers. As London Paramount Entertainment Resort says - the Hollywood studio and the BBC make perfect bedfellows.
The resort is expected to be thrown open in 2020 and could attract 15 million visitors a year. The southeast of England location was chosen to position the park as a rival to Disneyland Paris.
The star attraction could possibly be Doctor Who because it has potential for Tardis simulators and Dalek battles. Moreover, Merlin, a fantasy series based on the legend of King Arthur, is another likely contender to be a favorite since it is already a hit children's show In The Night Garden.
