Avoid red meat, avoid cancer

#redmeat #cancer #Neu5Gc #eathealthy It has now been revealed that excess of red meat in the form of beef, pork or lamb leads to cancer, hence, avoid red meat, and avoid cancer. Red meat has been linked to cancer for a long time and research had suggested that eating large amounts of these items raises the risk of deadly tumors. The probable reason for this is now revealed.
In the opinion of scientist, the human body considers red meat as a foreign invader and sets off a toxic immune response. While other mammals consume a diet high in red meat without any adverse health consequences, for humans that creates complications. This is because red meat contains a type of sugar known as "Neu5Gc" that is naturally produced by other carnivores but not humans. Therefore, when humans eat red meat, the body generates an immune response to the foreign sugar and produces antibodies that cause inflammation, and ultimately cancer.
The study was carried out by scientists at the University of California – they carried out tests that were genetically engineered so that they did not produce Neu5Gc and naturally developed tumors when they were fed the sugar.
This is not to belittle red meat – if taken in moderation, it can be a source of good nutrition for young people. As health experts indicate - red meat provides protein, vitamins and minerals, but too much is bad for long-term health. Their recommendation is eat not more than 2.5oz (70g) a day – or the equivalent of three slices of ham, one lamb chop or two slices of roast beef daily.
